Klaipėda is an exceptional Lithuanian city – outstanding with its particular architecture, port and history. The only port town of Lithuanian doesn’t have a big old town, yet it has a strict layout, largely German influenced architecture style and loads of interesting statues.
If you refer to historical texts, technically speaking, Klaipėda is the oldest city of Lithuania. Unfortunately, there aren’t that many historical buildings left standing, as the majority were destroyed by fires or the WWII.
During our tour we will visit the site of an older castle, where the story of Klaipėda city began. Later, we shall stroll across the old town, observing the sites of old churches and Prussian historical remains. After our tour across the city center, we shall visit one of the biggest amber factories. Here you will see with your own eyes, how an unrefined piece of amber becomes a smooth particle as part of elegant jewelry.
We will end the day by observing the sundown, as the sun meets the sea. We encourage all the brave souls to continue onto the boat tour.
